Armenian Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Arsen Torosyan published a short video on his Facebook page entitled “Another hybrid attack.” He noted that raising pensions by about 50 percent could cost
the state budget of approximately 100 billion drams, which is not currently in the budget. “All expenses have been distributed: social sector expenses, expenses of our system amount to about 1 trillion drams — healthcare, education,
construction of schools… That is, the entire state budget has been distributed, and of course there is no additional 100 billion drams now.
But within the framework of available resources, from January 1, we will increase pensions and benefits — with a system of refundable payments, making an increase of 20 percent, but not more than 10 thousand drams,” the minister said.
