Developing partnership between the Republic of Armenia The Minister of Internal Affairs received the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Armenia

On April 11, Interior Minister Arpine Sargsyan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Armenia Mehdi Sobhan.

Welcoming the guest, Arpine Sargsyan stressed the friendly relations between the two countries, which is also proved in close interdepartmental cooperation. Arpine Sargsyan also touched upon the issues of defending the rights and legitimate interests of Iranian citizens in Armenia, emphasizing that practical steps are taken to protect their rights and legitimate interests.

The Minister touched upon a number of targeted areas of expanding cooperation, highlighting the joint struggle against organized crime. In this context, Arpine Sargsyan noted the complementary actions of law enforcement agencies in the fight against drug trafficking, particularly in the interests of the population’s health.

Mehdi Sobhan, thanking for the warm reception, stressed that the friendly relations between the two countries have historical roots. The Ambassador pointed out the priority of the current challenges of crime, including the priority of illegal drug trafficking, expressing readiness to contribute to the implementation of the competent authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Major General of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Aram Hovhannisyan touched upon the closely close cooperation of the Armenian and Iranian police officers.

During the meeting, the parties also discussed issues related to the expansion of disaster risk management and migration and various daily work.
